About Allegory

Born and raised in Rye, NY, Claire Flower is the daughter of a renowned floral designer and National Council Master Flower Show Judge (Claire Hyland Palermo). She has been deeply involved in flower arranging and design all her life, winning her first flower show blue ribbons at the age of eight.

After successful careers as a public relations and marketing executive, and as a photographer whose work is in several corporate and private collections, Claire decided to concentrate on her first love. She studied at the New York Botanical Garden with some of the best floral designers in the world. Her design studio in Harrison, NY specializes in sophisticated fresh and silk arrangements for corporate and private clients.

Several years ago, while Claire and her husband Robert Flower were taking a personal tour of hidden art in Florence, Claire became fascinated with the prevalence of flower allegories in Renaissance painting: so, when she opened her studio, the name Allegory was a natural.

Claire Flower was formerly Senior Vice President for Marketing and Development, Westchester Medical Center; Director of Public Affairs, Westchester County; President, National Association of County Information Officers.
